Administrative Court Etiquette
The Administrative Court is a government location so visitors must behave in a respectful way while on the premises. Visitors are asked to conduct themselves according to the following rules:
Be well-behaved in the court area
1. Do not behave in ways that create turmoil or cause annoyance in the court area nor argue or protest against decisions of the court in any way that is not allowed by law.
2. Do not use amplifiers or loudspeakers as these interfere with adjudication proceedings in the court. Also, do not block entrance or exit doorways to the court.
3. Do not bring weapons, narcotic drugs or other illegal articles into the court area.
4. Do not take photos or make video recordings inside the court area.
5. Do not announce, report, distribute publications, conduct interviews or make open declarations in the vicinity of the court without being given consent beforehand by the court.
Inside courtrooms and inquiry rooms:
1. Wear clean and appropriate dress.
2. Turn off cell phones and all electronic devices.
3. Be well-behaved, sit appropriately, speak politely and do not speak loudly. Do not quarrel, smoke, read a newspaper or sleep inside the courtroom. Do not do anything that will disturb the judicial proceedings.
4. Stand up to show respect when the judge enters and leaves the courtroom or the inquiry room.
5. Stand when speaking to the judge, unless the judge gives permission to remain seated, and use polite language.
6. When entering or leaving the courtroom or inquiry room, you must show respect by standing straight and bowing your head slightly.
7. Parties in a case are requested to stand when the judge reads a judgment or an order unless the judge gives permission to remain seated.
At the court building
1. Do not wear hats or sunglasses.
2. Do not smoke.
3. Do not display bad behavior, speak loudly, use impolite language or argue or quarrel.
